Beverley Harris-Alvarez is a filmmaker, director, producer, and the founder of A Higher Calling Productions. She has directed and worked on numerous short films, one of which was invited to the Cannes Film Festival. Over the past several years she has produced a web series, various commercial productions, a full feature documentary, and an internet commercial for President Barack Obama. She is currently the Writer/Producer for a full-length feature film called “The Curse of Edgar Allan Poe”, In Due Time, producer for LGBT short film murder mystery “Antoni-A, full feature Docudrama “Bitter Pill” and writer-producer for “Poe Stories”.
Born in Waco, Texas, Beverley is also a Veteran of the United States Air Force and an alumna of the Miami International University of Art & Design, where she received a BFA in Film and Video Productions.
She is a divorcee with three kids, two daughters and my son. She also has two beautiful grandkids. Four years ago, she took a leap of faith and moved to Georgia from Florida with her two youngest kids, after winning a film festival pitch event. Teaching her children the value of education and faith is very important to her.
